Basil & Orange Rice Bowl, Fresh Fruits

‘Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar’ they say in French! Well here’s a recipe to behave like a king! This vegan low-sugar dish will bring you loads of vitamins with the fresh fruits. Almonds bring vitamin E, an excellent antioxidant while chia seeds are loaded with fibers and plant proteins, B9 vitamin, magnesium, calcium and minerals. Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sticky rice
  • 20cl coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp agave syrup
  • the juice of one orange
  • 1 salt pinch
  • 4 basil leaves
  • half a fresh mango, peeled and sliced
  • 2 cup fresh red berries (or unfrozen)
  • 2 tbsp almonds
  • 2 tbsp pistachios
  • 2 large pinches of chia seeds
  • 4 mint leaves


  1. The evening before, place the stiky rice in a water bowl and let it soak for at full night. Drain
  2. Place the rice in a pan with coconut milk, orange juice, salt and basil leaves
  3. Let it simmer on low heat and stir regularly; the mixture will slightly thicken
  4. Remove from the heat, retrieve the basil leaves and pour the rice into small bowls
  5. Top with fresh fruits, almonds, pistachios, chia seeds and mint
  6. Drizzle with agave syrup before serving tepid or warm
