Strawberries, Lemon & Sage

Medicinal plant used since the Antiquity, sage has a scientific name ‘Salvia’ taken from the Latin  ‘Salvare , which means ‘to heal’. It has countless vertues, one of them being to ease the digestion. A sage herbal tea will help digest one heavy meal. Sage isn’t easy to find although it’s delicious combined either with salty or sweet ingredients ! For this recipe, I’ve used fresh chopped sage and left it to marinate a whole night with fresh strawberries and lemon juice…the result came out amazing…subtle and flavorful at the same time…delicious !

Ingredients:

  • 20 middle size strawberries
  • 4 fresh sage leaves, chopped
  • 2 tbsp agave syrup
  • the juice of half a lemon

Recipe:

  1. The evening before, wash and dry the strawberries
  2. Trim them and cut into quarters
  3. Add the chopped sage, the agave syrup and the lemon juice
  4. Mix well and place the ingredients into your fridge for the night (at least 4 hours)
  5. Serve chilled after mixing again

Enjoy!
